Franklin finished his bowl exactly five minutes ago. But he is already waiting for his next meal. This Bernese Mountain Dog is currently staring directly at his dad’s takeout container at @yournewfriendfranklin. He is 100% focused on getting a snack.
This video of the dog is all about the moment he decided that his own dinner was just a light snack. He is sitting right there next to the table, just waiting. He is a giant puppy in training with some very high-level begging skills.

“The type of greed they talk about in the Bible” is how his mom describes the scene in the caption. We watch the video as Franklin starts panting really loudly right in his dad’s ear. It sounds like a protest.
Then, he rests his heavy chin right on the edge of the table. He keeps shifting his eyes between his mom’s camera and his dad’s fork, almost as if checking to see who might crack first. One commenter joked that “5 mins ago is 5 weeks ago in dog years.” And honestly, Franklin seems to agree.
The begging gets even more intense because he stands up and puts his massive front paws right on his dad’s shoulder. It’s a lot of weight, and he starts pawing at his dad’s arm immediately.
His mom starts laughing. That’s when his dad caves in. “I’m going to give him a little piece because he deserves it, he’s a good boy,” he says. But his mom says he doesn’t deserve a bite after being so pushy.
All his dad says to that is, “Well I love him, so.” That’s it, dinner is shared. “Franklin knows the weak link!!,” someone wrote, and they are totally right. Franklin even gets a kiss on his forehead along with a bite of his dad’s dinner.
Then the pup gets some head scratches, too. He really knows how to work the room. Another viewer said, “His food is his food… and your food is his food.. simple.” It’s difficult for him not to act like a puppy when there is dinner involved, like in this video. He’s a smart one because the pup got exactly what he wanted.
