In a video from Instagram user @hollythebluestaffy, a dog named Holly cherishes a toy that her dad gave her when she was tiny. The Blue Staffordshire Bull Terrier settles down with a black-and-white plush her owner calls “Moo Cow,” while the video explains that this is not a new habit or a passing phase. In the on-screen text, Holly’s dad writes, “This is Holly & she has a favourite toy.” He adds, “It’s the very first toy I ever gave her & she goes to sleep with it every night,” which establishes her attachment to the toy.

The dog’s dad labels the video as “Moo Cow Origin Story,” and it came after viewers apparently had questions about the toy that shows up again and again in Holly’s videos. In the caption, her owner explained that he bought the plush on the way to pick her up because he “didn’t want to show up empty handed.” Now, Moo Cow has stayed with Holly since “her first car ride home.”
He also confirmed it is the same favorite toy people still see today, writing, “Yes, it’s the exact same one you see in all her videos today,” adding that Holly stays “very gentle with her toys but especially this one.” Moreover, it has held up well, aside from “a bit of fading from being in the washing machine (gentle cycle only…).”
And no, he does not keep a backup. Holly’s dad wrote, “No I do not have a replacement for it,” joking that he feels “pretty confident it will stand the test of time for the next 50-100 years.”
So, he added, “Whether moo cow hand delivery is required or she hops into bed and just rests her head on it, it’s with her every night.” Naturally, viewers melted over the Blue Staffy’s obsession with her toy. One commenter described the toy as a “surrogate litter mate” that helps her feel safe at bedtime, and another admitted they wanted to be the toy, “little spooned” by Holly. Five years on, the video shows that the dog’s dad got her other toys, but Moo Cow remains her baby.
