Waiting at the doctor’s can feel like a long time, even on a good day. Now, imagine being a senior Golden Retriever at the vet with nothing to do but sit still. That’s clearly not Tequila’s style. Over on @ourdailydoseoftequila, this gentle girl decides she’ll handle the waiting her own way, and honestly, it’s hard not to smile watching it unfold.
According to her human, this is just a real-life moment, not a trend, just a regular day captured while she’s at the clinic for an ear infection. Still, the way she carries herself turns a simple wait into something unexpectedly charming.
Senior Golden Retriever is such a good girl the way she patiently waits at the vet
The video opens in the waiting area, where Tequila is pacing with her leash in her mouth. She is not waiting for her humans to lead the way. Instead, she is managing her own walk very independently. This breed is famous for loving to carry things in their mouths, and Tequila is no exception. She wanders over to a shelf full of dog food to see what is on offer today.
After a quick inspection, she turns back toward her parents. Her leash was a bit long at first, so she heads over to her dad for assistance. She stops right at his knees so he can fix the strap. He loops it around her mouth to shorten it and make it easier for her to carry. Now that her gait is smooth, she continues her tour of the room.
This senior Golden Retriever has so much poise while she wanders around. She looks up at the medicine racks, then turns to see if her dad is following her. Dad stays put in his chair, so Tequila just continues her journey alone. She makes the waiting room look like a relaxing afternoon stroll.
Eventually, she wags her tail and heads past the reception desk with a lot of confidence. She is either heading toward a vet room or visiting the staff. The clip ends before we see her final destination. Over 23,000 people have already liked her independent spirit.
