A hilarious Instagram video from @zukothesamoyed shows two Samoyeds named Zuko and Kuma staring at their owner so intensely that it looks like they are trying to move objects with their minds. In the on-screen text, the owner jokes, “no one told me about this part of dog ownership.”
Meanwhile, the caption repeats the same feeling with, “nobody told me.” If you see how intense the dogs’ stares are, you will understand where the owner is coming from.
Owner shows how Samoyeds love to keep ‘staring’
The video cycles through different spots around the house, and the Samoyeds are everywhere, staying put like fluffy statues. They stare so intensely that they could burn a hole with their eyes. While doing so, Zuko and Kuma look equally judgmental and adorable. One of them flashes that sweet Sammy smile, with his tongue out, like the staring is friendly. However, the other looks like a serious partner in crime who means serious business and nothing else.
People in the comment section said they loved the staring. One viewer wrote, “They just wanna make sure they aren’t missing out on any snaccs,” while another added, “And they make you feel guilty about everything you’re doing!” And a third one asserted, “They definitely want something from you,” which can be true, because dogs often pay attention to us because we control the good stuff.
We take them on walks, play with them, give them treats, and open the door for them, so it does not take long for dogs to learn the patterns pretty easily — staring becomes their way of staying in the loop. Moreover, Samoyeds are very people-focused, so staring is the least you can expect from them.
Zuko and Kuma may not say what they want, but they do not really need to; they will just stand there, staring, until you figure it out.
