Clarabelle’s life hasn’t always been easy. The 13-year-old mixed-breed dog has been failed by people multiple times and was even found roaming on her own on more than one occasion. Still, those caring for her say she remains cheerful, adaptable, and full of love. Her story is now touching hearts online as her foster caregivers hope the senior dog will finally find a permanent family.

A video shared by the Instagram account @adoptapet is shining a spotlight on Clarabelle. The senior dog is currently in foster care through Charlotte Mecklenburg Animal Care in North Carolina.

The clip describes her as a dog who has experienced more than her share of hardship. Text overlay explains that “Clarabelle has been failed by people more than once” throughout her life.

According to the post, Clarabelle was found wandering on two separate occasions. While the details of how she ended up on her own are unknown, the repeated incidents point to a life that lacked the stability every dog deserves. Today, however, she is finally safe in foster care, where she has been able to show her true personality.

Far from being withdrawn or fearful, Clarabelle is cheerful, adaptable, and full of energy. The post calls her a “spunky senior” whose enthusiasm rivals that of dogs many years younger. Whether she is heading out for a walk or spending a quiet afternoon at home, Clarabelle appears happy simply to be part of the action.

Her foster caregivers have also discovered that she comes with many qualities that adopters often look for. Clarabelle is house-trained, crate-trained, and easy to walk on a leash. She has reportedly never had an accident in her foster home and settles comfortably into daily routines.

What has touched them most, however, is Clarabelle’s attitude. Despite years of uncertainty and multiple disappointments, she has remained affectionate and trusting. For the people sharing her story, the goal is to help Clarabelle find a permanent home where she can be “wrapped in love and cherished for the amazing dog she’s always been.”
