Then she points outside and says, “Right there,” as if she is directing an officer to the scene. Turning to Wynston, she piles on, “Who is that? Don’t they look weird?.” Here, her voice dropped into a whisper as Wynston stares hard through the glass. His mom asks, “Don’t they look really weird? Who is it? Who is that?” as if Wynston is not already curious enough.
The dog finally answers the only way he knows how, by barking. What makes it better is that Wynston’s Dachshund sibling barks in the background, too, like they are on the mission together. And, like a proud mom, Wynston’s owner responds, “Yeah, that’s what I’m saying.”
