An unlikely animal friendship has people online completely emotional after a series of clips showed a Doberman and a tabby cat cuddling so closely that viewers compared their bond to something straight out of a storybook.
Doberman and cat won’t stop napping next to each other
The viral video, shared by the Instagram account diesel_dobie, captured the peaceful relationship between Diesel the Doberman and Wasabi the tabby cat as they lounged together on a bed. Instead of keeping their distance, the cat practically glued himself to the much larger dog, stretching across Diesel’s body while nuzzling into him for comfort.
One moment in the clip showed Wasabi wrapping his paws around Diesel while lying directly against the Doberman’s side. Another scene captured the cat getting partially squished as Diesel shifted positions, but Wasabi barely seemed to care. “He doesn’t even mind getting squished,” one text overlay in the video joked. Another line in the clip summed up the entire friendship perfectly: “As long as he gets to be next to Diesel.”
The wholesome clip quickly resonated with viewers online, especially pet lovers who couldn’t get over how naturally the two animals seemed to fit together. “The clips you need to see to start the week right,” the caption read alongside the video featuring Diesel and Wasabi. People flooded the comments section with emotional reactions almost immediately.
“Cuteness overload,” one viewer wrote. “My heart just melted,” another added. One user joked, “Cancel therapy for the week, this did the trick.” “They love each other. Brothers forever,” one commenter wrote. Another person added, “Tabby’s are my absolute favorites.”
The video came from the popular Instagram account diesel_dobie, run by Hanny Thomas and built around life with pets. According to the profile, the account is based in Palm Springs, California, and regularly shares clips featuring Diesel alongside other animals and day-to-day pet moments.
