There are two ways for dogs to get what they want: they either wait for it to come to them or they go after it themselves. Judging by one dog’s morning routine, she firmly believes in the second option. The fluffy pup wasn’t interested in sitting around and hoping to get scratches from her human when there was a much simpler solution available. A video shared on Instagram by @honey_the_fox captures the moment she put that plan into action.
Dog moves towards her human instead of waiting for scratches
The clip begins with the dog, Honey, sitting across from her owner on the bed as the day gets underway. While many dogs might wait patiently for attention, Honey seems to have a different strategy in mind. Rather than staying put and hoping for scratches to come her way, she gradually makes her move toward her human.
As her owner notices her, the conversation begins with a simple question about whether she slept well. In response, the dog squints her eyes, flashes what looks remarkably like a smile, and starts wagging her tail enthusiastically.
The closer Honey gets, the more obvious her goal becomes. Her tail swings back and forth with increasing excitement as she inches toward her owner, clearly hoping to receive some affection. Meanwhile, the amused owner can’t help but laugh at the determined pup’s behavior.
Eventually, the plan pays off. Honey receives the scratches she had been seeking all along and immediately settles in to enjoy the attention. The dog’s content expression and relaxed demeanor suggest she considers the effort well worth it.
The owner later summed up the sweet interaction in the caption, writing, “is there a better way to wake up?” For many viewers, the answer appeared to be no. The comments section quickly filled with people gushing over Honey’s personality and expressive face. One viewer wrote, “Omg the crooked ears AND smiling?? Her happiness is infectious,” while another commented, “you are so lucky to have this beautiful alarm clock.”
Others couldn’t get enough of the pup’s morning appearance. “I wanna get up to that face the first thing,” one person wrote. Another added, “Adorable squints and bed head hair.”
